We are a student-led initiative dedicated to supporting families impacted by the current wave of unjust and inhumane deportations. Our mission is to stand in solidarity with those facing displacement and amplify their voices through compassion, advocacy, and community support.

Meet the Board of the Initiative

Founder & Project Director

My name is Rebekah Rodriguez, and I’m the founder of Voices Beyond Borders. I started this initiative because I witnessed how immigrant and refugee families in our communities are often overlooked, mistreated, or denied access to the resources they need to survive and thrive.

As a Latina student, I’ve always felt a deep, personal connection to these struggles, and I knew I couldn’t stay silent. I created Voices Beyond Borders to amplify the voices of those who are often unheard, to offer tangible support, and to build a bridge between people in need and the resources that can truly help them. I believe no one should feel alone, afraid, or invisible simply because of where they come from or the papers they do or don’t have. Everyone deserves dignity, safety, and a real chance at a better future, and I’m committed to making that a reality through this work

Co-Founder & Strategy Lead

Hi, my name is Diana, and I’m the co-founder of Voices Beyond Borders. Living in California, home to the largest undocumented immigrant population in the United States, I’ve had the opportunity to witness how hardworking, driven, and resilient this community is. With the recent ICE raids, this community continues to go to work each morning, but with a new fear of not making it back home.

I chose to be part of this initiative because I’ve seen a shift in my community and want to protect and be the voice for those who don’t have one. My goals for this initiative are to represent this community more accurately than is currently being reported in the media and to help foster greater empathy within the public. I, alongside my team, plan to support the undocumented community by providing them with the resources necessary to navigate these times in the hope of providing less fear and more hope.

Creative Director

My name is Emiliana Peeples, and I’m the Creative Director of Voices Beyond Borders. I joined this initiative because I see the struggles our immigrant communities face and the lack of support they receive.

Through VBB, I want to spread awareness and share important resources using creative platforms and social media. Supporting undocumented individuals means strengthening our entire community, as they play a vital role in our workforce and society.

Outreach Director

Hi, my name is Lisette and I’m the Outreach Director for Voices Beyond Borders. I feel honored and excited to take on this role and make a meaningful impact.

Growing up in an area where immigration was a constant concern, I’ve seen how fear can silence and isolate people. I believe it’s a right to stand up for those who are afraid and ensure their voices are heard. In this position, I will do my best to connect our community with helpful resources, support, and hope.

“Deportations don’t just remove people—they tear apart communities. No one should live in fear of losing a parent, a partner, or a child to a broken immigration system.”

-Ai-jen Poo (Director of National Domestic Workers Alliance)

Our Story

Established in 2025 after seeing all the injustice being done to many first generation families we have created a student -led iniative called Voices Beyond Borders. Supporting refugee and immigrant families. All donations go directly to nonprofits and families in need. We are not a nonprofit, just students trying to make a difference. With each charity drive we are retrive donations of any amount, and anything ; food, clothes, first-aid and much more for families all around California. A new non- profit is chosen each month to donate to by our co-founder Diana F. and all donation will go towards that specfic organiziation for that month. No profits go to any memebers nor does it go to any promotional activities the inniative does.

Our Inniative and Goals

We are committed to empowering the immigrant community by helping individuals and families navigate the fears and uncertainties they may be facing while providing them with the support and resources they need. Our mission is to foster a more inclusive society through education and advocacy. Our work centers on offering essential resources—such as language support, legal aid referrals, cultural orientation, and more—to ensure immigrants have the tools they need to succeed. In addition to direct support, we strive to educate the broader public by sharing accurate, compelling stories that highlight both the struggles and contributions of immigrants. By doing so, we aim to challenge harmful misconceptions, inspire empathy, and foster a well-informed and welcoming community. As we continue to grow, we are working toward formally establishing ourselves as a nonprofit organization. Our plans include expanding our reach, building strong partnerships, and deepening our impact, ensuring that every individual we serve feels seen, supported, and valued.
